Pregnancy Style – Week 26

So, these are pretty much the only pants that I can still actually button at the moment!  Most of the time I secure my pants with a rubber band or hair tie!  Please tell me I’m not the only one to do this!!  🙂

The top in today’s outfit is actually from the end of last summer.  I loved the color and sequin detail and I knew that detail would serve as a great distraction from my growing bump.  The V detail visually elongates my torso, thus making my bump ALMOST disappear.  And, as always, I used the necklace as an added detail to draw the eye upward instead of down.

What are your tips for dressing a baby bump?

Highly Requested Post!

Ok, I am giving in after several friends, family members, and random acquaintances suggested that I should share my outfits while pregnant to show that women can be stylish and pregnant at the same time.  🙂  So here we go!

I am currently 6 months (25 weeks) pregnant with my second child.  🙂  This one is a girl!!!

The mixed media print of the top I chose for today helps to camouflage my growing belly and the necklace adds a bit of interest to draw the eye upward, thus helping draw attention away from my belly, too.  You can use the same logic to camouflage your belly, too, if that’s where you hold most of your weight.

And here is a peek at my bump.  OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Easy Breezy

I love tops that are easy to throw on and that will mix and match with any bottom seamlessly.  This is that top!  I can envision so many ways that this top can be worn, but I chose to throw it on with a boot cut jean and heels.

Fringed

I love that fringe is big for summer this year.  Fringe adds a fun detail to any piece and can work on all shapes and sizes.  If you are afraid to wear it on clothing, go for accessories that have fringed details.  Remember to have fun with fashion and trends!

Horizontal Stripes and Blonde is Back!

OH MY!  It is good to be back blonde again!  Although, the reddish brown was a nice departure from being blonde for most of my life, it just never really felt like ME!  This feels better.  Whew!

Horizontal stripes aren’t as scary as you may think…if you know how to wear them!  My advice is to wear them only where you’d like attention drawn to.  For instance, these horizontal stripes probably wouldn’t look as good on a pair of pants!  As you know, horizontal stripes widen whatever they are on, so you need to contradict that by making the rest of your outfit long and lean!

What I’m Wearing:  Top from Beyond the Rack, Cardigan from Jane, Express jeans, Boots from DSW

Are you afraid of horizontal stripes?

Draped In The Back

I’ve heard some people discussing the longevity of the hi/low hemline recently and as a fashion consultant I think this trend will last in tops only!  The hi/low top can be worn by everyone, every size, and every shape.  It provides coverage where needed and feels fresh and fun.  I especially love these tops in styles like the one I’m wearing below.  It adds a bit more interest when leaving instead of arriving.  🙂

Ruffled Hem

This top is a new purchase for me.  I saw it on shopruche.com and knew I wanted it immediately.  It not only looks comfy, but I also knew that I would be able to wear it in so many different ways.  Today, though, I chose to wear it simply.

What I’m Wearing: top from shopruche.com, jeans from indicustom.com, boots from DSW, necklace from www.panache-salon.com.

This top would also look great with my black and white polka dot skinnies and maybe a pop of an unexpected color, like orchid, the Pantone color of the year!

What would you wear this top with?

Erin

Inspired by Pinterest

Pinterest is a great place for inspiration of all kinds – home, diy, business, and especially fashion!  I have a board dedicated especially for “Outfits I Love”!  Please feel free to follow my board HERE.

I pretty much had all of the items in this inspiration photo so I copied it exactly, however, I usually take a piece of inspiration from each outfit (maybe a color or a style of top) and create a totally different outfit from there.

Here was my inspiration!

Riding Boots & Lace <3

And here is my outfit!

Burnie decided he needed to be in this picture!  If you aren’t familiar with Burnie, he is a kitty I rescued and rehabilitated after some little teenage buttholes set him on fire and left him to burn to death.  Luckily a good Samaritan found him and contacted my organization about helping him out.  I didn’t hesitate to “foster” him, but couldn’t let him go when the opportunity arose.  Now he is one of our shop cats and he gets to laze around indoors and have all the attention he deserves.

What I’m Wearing:  Top from ruche.com, jeans from Express, boots from DSW, lace boot socks from jane.com, and necklace from www.panache-salon.com.

Do you have an outfit pinboard?  If so, please share so I can follow you!!

Love,

Erin
